Wisdom!

Proverbs 8

Wisdom’s Call

  1. Does not wisdom call out?Does not understanding raise her voice?
  2. At the highest point along the way, where the paths meet, she takes her stand;
  3. beside the gate leading into the city,at the entrance, she cries aloud:
  4. “To you, O people, I call out; I raise my voice to all mankind.
  5. You who are simple, gain prudence; you who are foolish, set your hearts on it.
  6. Listen, for I have trustworthy things to say; I open my lips to speak what is right.
  7. My mouth speaks what is true,  for my lips detest wickedness.
  8. All the words of my mouth are just; none of them is crooked or perverse.
  9. To the discerning all of them are right;they are upright to those who have found knowledge.
  10. Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold,
  11. for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.
  12. “I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence;  I possess knowledge and discretion.
  13. To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.
  14. Counsel and sound judgment are mine; I have insight, I have power.
  15. By me kings reign and rulers issue decrees that are just;
  16. by me princes govern, and nobles—all who rule on earth.
  17. I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.
  18. With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity.
  19. My fruit is better than fine gold; what I yield surpasses choice silver.
  20. I walk in the way of righteousness, along the paths of justice,
  21. bestowing a rich inheritance on those who love me and making their treasuries full.
  22. “The Lord brought me forth as the first of his works, before his deeds of old;
  23. I was formed long ages ago, at the very beginning, when the world came to be.
  24. When there were no watery depths, I was given birth  when there were no springs overflowing with water;
  25. before the mountains were settled in place,  before the hills, I was given birth,
  26. before he made the world or its fields or any of the dust of the earth.
  27. I was there when he set the heavens in place, when he marked out the horizon on the face of the deep,
  28. when he established the clouds above and fixed securely the fountains of the deep,
  29. when he gave the sea its boundary so the waters would not overstep his command, and when he marked out the foundations of the earth.
  30. Then I was constantly at his side. I was filled with delight day after day, rejoicing always in his presence,
  31. rejoicing in his whole world and delighting in mankind.
  32. “Now then, my children, listen to me; blessed are those who keep my ways.
  33. Listen to my instruction and be wise; do not disregard it.
  34. Blessed are those who listen to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway.
  35. For those who find me find life  and receive favor from the Lord.
  36. But those who fail to find me harm themselves; all who hate me love death.”

Further Benefits of Wisdom

Proverbs 3:

Benefits of Wisdom

1 My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart,
2 for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity.
3 Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your pathsstraight.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil.
8 This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.
9 Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops;
10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.
11 My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline and do not resent his rebuke,
12 because the LORD disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.
13 Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding,
14 for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold.
15 She is more precious than rubies;nothing you desire can compare with her.
16 Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.
17 Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace.
18 She is a tree of life to those who embrace her; those who lay hold of her will be blessed.
19 By wisdom the LORD laid the earth's foundations, by understanding he set the heavens in place;
20 by his knowledge the deeps were divided, and the clouds let drop the dew.
21 My son, preserve sound judgment and discernment, do not let them out of your sight;
22 they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck.
23 Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble;
24 when you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
25 Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked,
26 for the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being snared.
27 Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act.
28 Do not say to your neighbor, "Come back later; I'll give it tomorrow"-- when you now have it with you.
29 Do not plot harm against your neighbor, who lives trustfully near you.
30 Do not accuse a man for no reason-- when he has done you no harm.
31 Do not envy a violent man or choose any of his ways,
32 for the LORD detests a perverse man but takes the upright into his confidence.
33 The LORD's curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the righteous.
34 He mocks proud mockers but gives grace to the humble.
35 The wise inherit honor, but fools he holds up to shame.

Proverbs 2

New Living Translation

The Benefits of Wisdom

  1. My child, listen to what I say, and treasure my commands.
  2. Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding.
  3. Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding.
  4. Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures.
  5. Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord,and you will gain knowledge of God.
  6. For the Lord grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
  7. He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest.He is a shield to those who walk with integrity.
  8. He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to him.
  9. Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair,and you will find the right way to go.
  10. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy.
  11. Wise choices will watch over you. Understanding will keep you safe.
  12. Wisdom will save you from evil people, from those whose words are twisted.
  13. These men turn from the right way to walk down dark paths.
  14. They take pleasure in doing wrong, and they enjoy the twisted ways of evil.
  15. Their actions are crooked,and their ways are wrong.
  16. Wisdom will save you from the immoral woman, from the seductive words of the promiscuous woman.
  17. She has abandoned her husband and ignores the covenant she made before God.
  18. Entering her house leads to death; it is the road to the grave.
  19. The man who visits her is doomed. He will never reach the paths of life.
  20. Follow the steps of good men instead, and stay on the paths of the righteous.
  21. For only the godly will live in the land, and those with integrity will remain in it.
  22. But the wicked will be removed from the land, and the treacherous will be uprooted.

Pull your Strength from the Bible

Proverbs 1

King James Version

The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;
To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;
To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;
To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.
A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.
10 My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
11 If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:
12 Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:
13 We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:
14 Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:
15 My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:
16 For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.
17 Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.
18 And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.
19 So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.
20 Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:
21 She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,
22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord:
30 They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.
33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

A verse that keeps me going

Tefania 3:17
Domnul, Dumnezeul tău, este în mijlocul tău, ca un viteaz care poate ajuta; Se va bucura de tine cu mare bucurie, va tăcea în dragostea Lui şi nu va mai putea de veselie pentru tine.

Zephaniah 3:17
The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you in his love he will no longer rebuke you,but will rejoice over you with singing.

If we find our happiness in God, God will rejoice in us!
Never Forget.

Don't know how to start reading the Bible?

I found the task of starting to read all the Bible as very challenging. So i decided to start with the New Testament. Then I decided to take one chapter at a time daily, allowing the word to sink in my mind. Then i chose to use sticky notes and highlighters to help me keep track of the most important verses. On the days that i have more time i read two , three or four chapters.

Also I found this easier to do it with friends. Choose one or two friends and decide to read together, at the end of the day discuss what you each learned from the chapter you read. This will be more powerful and it will also keep you from stopping. It will bring you closer as friends and it will also help you understand God more!.

Born Again.

Importance:
So why is it important to be Born Again?
This step is the first step in guaranteeing that you will see the kingdom of God.
John 3:3
Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."

What do you have to do to be Born Again:
To become a new person you first have to confess Jesus with your own mouth, you have to believe in  Him with all your heart, and you have to believe that God raised Him from the dead.
Romans 10:9
that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;

How do you know you are Born Again:
The signs of being Born Again: You will be a new person, all the old things in your life will suddenly not make scene. Your continence will start to tell you more and more where you go wrong. You will start to feel a fire in your of knowing more of who God is, of reading His word, of helping people that are struggling.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

The Purpose-Driven life

You are on holidays and you have nothing to do?
You want to read a book?
I would suggest reading this book! Give it a try!
The Purpose Driven Life sold 30 million copies, and is the second most-translated book in the world, after the Bible.

Content of the book:
The book is intended to be read as a daily inspiration, with each of the 40 short chapters read on consecutive days. Each chapter contains a personal application section at the end with a "point to ponder," a verse to remember, and a question to consider over the course of that day. Rick Warren described his book as an "anti-self-help book." The first sentence of the book reads, "It's not about you," and the remainder of the chapter goes on to explain how the quest for personal fulfillment, satisfaction, and meaning can only be found in understanding and doing what God placed you on Earth to do. The book's 40 chapters are divided into six major sections, with the following titles:
  • What on Earth Am I Here For?
  • Purpose #1: You Were Planned for God's Pleasure (Worship)
  • Purpose #2: You Were Formed for God's Family (Fellowship)
  • Purpose #3: You Were Created to Become Like Christ (Discipleship)
  • Purpose #4: You Were Shaped for Serving God (Ministry)
  • Purpose #5: You Were Made for a Mission (Mission)

Trust!

I know..You love something so much you don't want to give it up.Then something happens that takes it away. It seams so difficult in that moment to understand why it's been taken away. But all the time i find strength when i look at this picture. I remember that God always has something better planned for us even if we can't see it in that moment in time!
Don't let your head down keep it up!

Fruit of the Spirit

How do you know if you are going on the right road.
Or if you have the right thoughts and behavior according to the bible?

Look no further then Galatians.  Here we see that if we have God within us our behavior will differ from the rest , our personality will be awesome.We will love, be happy, joyful and not let anything take away this joy, we will be peaceful,always looking to make peace and not start wars with one another, we will have patience, our hearts will be filled with kindness and goodness, we will be faithful to one another, gentle and we will be able to control ourselves around people .

Galatians 5:22-23

English
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Romanian

22 Roada Duhului, dimpotrivă, este: dragostea, bucuria, pacea, îndelunga răbdare, bunătatea, facerea de bine, credincioşia, 23 blândeţea, înfrânarea poftelor. Împotriva acestor lucruri nu este lege.

Call out for forgiveness!

'Cause we all make mistakes sometimes
And we all step across the line
But nothing's sweeter than the day we find
We find
It's hanging over him like the crowds of Seattle
And raining on his swag, falling deeper in the saddle
It's written on his face, he don't have to make a sound
Somebody call the 5-0, we've got a man down
Now you can go and play it like your own rock 'n' roll
It does the job on each and every man's soul
And when your head is a pillow with a nice fall
You can beat your life that it's gonna be a fight y'all

'Cause we all make mistakes sometimes
And we've all stepped across that line
But nothing's sweeter than the day we find
Forgiveness, forgiveness
And we all stumble and we fall
Bridges burn in the heat of it all
But nothing's sweeter than the pain
Sweeter than the pain, recall
Time for forgiveness
We all need, we all need
We all need forgiveness
We all need, we all need

'Cause we all make mistakes sometimes
My mama told me what I would be in for
If I get to the sun, get inside of me pimped up
My heart's been broken and my wounds been open
And I don't know if I can hear I'm sorry been spoken
But those forgiving much should be quicker to give it
And God forgave me for it all, Jesus beg forgiveness
So when the stones fly and they aimed at you
Just say forgive them Father, they know not what they do
Now you can go and play it like your own rock 'n' roll
It does the job on each and every man's soul
And when your head is a pillow with a nice fall
You can beat your life that it's gonna be a fight y'all

And we've all stepped across that line
But nothing's sweeter than the day we find
Forgiveness, forgiveness
And we all stumble and we fall
Bridges burn in the heat of it all
But nothing's sweeter than the pain
Sweeter than the pain, recall

No matter how lost you are
You're not that far, you're not too far (from forgiveness)
No matter how hurt you are
You're not that far, you're not too far (from forgiveness)
And no matter how wrong you are
You're not that far, you're not too far (from forgiveness)
No matter who you are
You're not that far, you're not too far (from forgiveness)

Ask for forgiveness
